A feature that we are currently working on is a new scene type called Sub Scenes. A sub scene is a scene that is shown on top of another scene, as an overlay. A regular scene can have a collection of sub scenes, and navigation between them are facilitated with actions.

This will be very useful when making slideshows, galleries and other content that require multiple similar pages. If you for instance create a photo gallery, a regular scene can contain a frame and buttons for navigation, while each photo is put in a sub scene. This makes the creation of the content easier, and opens for new ways of using transitions and motions. So if you're creating that kind of content - the next update will be for you!

This feature is now inplemented, with the 1.2 release of Yooba Studio! Check out the tutorial on sub scenes to get started right away.

Did you know that Yooba Studio has lots of similarities with WordPress? wordpress

Fundamentally it's about easy creation, publishing and managing of content. Add loads of extras to that, and the administration aspect as well, and there you go. Fast and easy deployment, accessible and efficient.

Note to all: Sometimes we need to remind ourselves. Nowadays it's important to go back to the basics, get things executed the easy way.

We've had some initial contacts with the e-commerce segment, where we certainly are going to see ideas being executed.  I read an article (in Swedish) about how spontaneous we are when we're shopping on the Internet. The discourse sprawls; where some mean that the (their) customers certainly know what they're looking for and mainly purchase those products, whereas others have customers who looks around a lot. electric_shopper

Personally I'm definitely open for impulse items, and I think it's all about the way the goods are presented. If I'm familiar with the products capabilities and I want it - I'll get it. There's been many times though, where I found an interesting item which I initially hadn't In mind and that has caught my interest, which haven't lead to any purchase because of lack of information. It could be visual or in text. But it really strikes me sometimes why some sites are making it hard for my to purchase a product.

I presume an impulse item can come out of many conditions (in the same ways as in a physical shop), where a visually enhanced presentation (display) is a start, but also providing useful information on the item is a need. Just to make it easy for me.

A feature that has been requested by users of Yooba Studio is the ability to change the zoom level of the work area. The zoom-feature has therefore been put first on our todo-list, and will be included in the next release. Both the ability to zoom in to make pixel-perfect designs, and to zoom out to get an overview of large projects will be really useful additions, so we're hard at work building the feature for the next version, which will be out soon.

What features do you want to see in upcoming releases? Please let us know!

2009 the year where we certainly need to start walk the talk. I must say, for our part, things look really exciting. Though, there's not going to be anything but hard work. Really hard. We spent a few days during the holidays to define forthcoming objectives, and the plans rolling them out.

Again, now's the time to re-focus, adapt as this is the year when shifts are taking place.

Hope we'll see you in '09.
